Failure to collect child.

If a carer does not collect a child after 15 minutes

· Ring contact numbers to speak to parents or emergency contact. Leave message.

· Ring again after child has been left for 30 minutes. Leave message.

· If no one has collected the child after 1 hour ring police/hospitals.

· If no contact is made after all these avenues ring Social Services.

In no circumstances must a member of staff take a child home with them without parental permission. If this is given ideally at least two members of staff should acknowledge the verbal permission.

A member of staff also needs verbal permission over the phone to drive or walk a child home.
